Global Support, Inc. was incorporated
in 1998 as a non-profit organization under Section
501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) code
.
The purpose of the formation of Global Support, Inc was
to answer to the many troubles and challenges facing children
and youth, low-and moderate-income families, and the disadvantaged
population in general. These include, but not limited to
drug and alcohol abuse among teens and adults; the growing
concern for after-school programming, especially to serve
the underprivileged and at-risk children; a commitment to
unify families by providing comprehensive technical training
to low-and moderate-income families to provide them with
the technical skills necessary to earn livable wages to
support their families; the growing feeling of hopelessness
and defeat among many of the young people in our society;
the need to overcome the barriers in employment; and the
need to offer various other forms of support to those in
need. We offer a wide range of services to address these
issues.
These services include, but not limited to emergency
assistance, community development forum, after-school programming
for kids, Information Technology training for the low-and
moderate-income families, career development, and employment
assistance. Some of these services are carried out
through our Community Technology Center, which is located
in Marietta, Georgia. Interestingly, some of these services
are provided absolutely free of charge to the individuals
who benefit from them.
Global Support, Inc. basically operates on donations and
in-kind contributions. All of our training programs are
available and assessable at a low affordable cost. We offer
scholarship grants for participants to receive training
at a minimum fee or at absolutely no charge.
Board of Directors who have final authority in decision
making governs Global Support, Inc. The organization utilizes
both volunteers and full time staff. The Board members are
non-salaried.
Our Mission
"To empower individual members of our society to attain
a higher quality of living; to ameliorate the causes and
conditions of poverty; to promote youth development; and
to encourage participation in community building initiatives.
Our broad vision is driven by a commitment to restore and
promote human dignity."
